Oct. 26th, 2009 03:30 pmTook 6 visits to the mechanic in the last 5 days - but my car finally passed inspection. Dieties bless their garage; they REALLY went out of their way to help me out, from only charging me the parts at cost to in the last case today, not charging me labor to install. These guys will be receiving cookies or sandwiches or SOMETHING in the near future. Yesh.
Registration-attempt-the-first will have to wait until Wednesday, as the multiple mechanicals took everything but my last $12. And I say attempt-the-first because I'm betting myself $5 that there will be some infinitesimal piece of fuckitude that will require more than one attempt. My hunch is that be the fact that I don't actually, technically, live anywhere that may be an issue - no rental contract or utility bills, etc. - but the few bills that I have all have my mailing address on them (a mailbox but one with a physical rather than a "PO Box" address), so I'm going to go in with that and basically hope that they don't question it. Yeah. Because that always works, right...?
Anyway - one new sticker in the window, one to go. Whoops - plus plate tabs. And THEN I can FINALLY get my fucking driver's license.
FUCK this is so much more complicated than it was in The 505 - although the benefits of not having to wait hours and hours in line to do damn near ANYTHING - pros and cons, pluses and minuses, etc. etc.
So.
Onward...
