Oh, hey, hi everyone else.
Oh yeah - you should go see this, too -
You still have one more weekend to see The True History of Coca Cola in Mexico at the Auxillary Dog Theatre - last weekend 1/23-1/25, Fri & Sat at 8pm, Sun 6pm
From Aux Dog's Website: Two documentary filmmakers travel to Mexico to show how Coca-Cola and American pop culture has overrun the Mexican way of life. Ironically, the two filmmakers use the same tactics to make a film about the plight of the Mexican people as the corporations do to exploit the Mexican people in the first place.
The blurb doesn't capture what a smart, hilarious and brilliant piece of satire this piece is - performed entirely by a two man cast on an itty bitty stage with a handful of props, a selection of snarky slides, great scripting, and a pace that will leave you nearly breathless.
Seriously, dude - I really think you'd love this. Hell, I will BUY YOU A GODDAMN TICKET to see it.
Anyone who knows me knows how much of a theatre snob I am. Which isn't to say I'm the world's foremost expert, on theatre or anything else -
But this is a DAMN good piece of work, and it really deserves to be seen, especially people who are smart and funny enough to really get it.
Tell me you want to go!
