I've spent more than a few New Year's by myself. It's so frickin' cold tonight that even if I had plans, I would seriously consider canceling them, because the wind chill is enough to make me really damn cranky.

Meh.

I've had years that were - less complicated and hectic.
I think - no, I'm pretty sure - I've lost a few of the few friends I had this year, because I've been awfully withdrawn a lot of the time. I blame school a lot, but - I dunno. I'm not terribly comfortable with the way this year is wrapping up, but - I'm not in a space where I know how I feel about it just yet.

HOWEVER.

I have a warm place to live, two cats who amuse and exasperate me, and as far as I know, everyone I know is healthy and happy, or at least not miserable.

Non-committal New Year, Everyone.

My friend ElegantElbow (whom you may know) is having her and N's usual NYE party(mostly geeks and varied intellectuals) .. I'm going to head over there when i get out of here at work, a little before 10pm

I'm not real good with parties, particularly parties with a large number of people I don't know, and especially same on holidays. I'm better with very small gatherings on non-specific occasions.
