Dec. 28th, 2007 03:27 amWhat do you know about yourself?
Are humans innately good, or inherently evil?
Do you have an opinion, a sneaking suspicion, a hunch?
Without becoming lost in them, can you recognize and accept the fallibilities of human nature?
Do you base your opinions on assumptions, or on ideas and fact?
What are the facts?
What are your beliefs?
What is the magnet for your moral compass?
How do you demonstrate responsibility for your choices and actions?

Date: 2007-12-29 05:18 am (UTC)While I like Good Omens answer—that humans are inherently human—I tend to believe that, if not angelic, people are on the whole, let's say, 55% good. Not an overwhelming victory, perhaps, but over the course of a week, a ten percent lead for the angels is enough.
As for the bolded question: I know what tests I've been put through, and I know how I've performed. However, I also know that I'm afraid of death, and I don't know what I'd do if put in a situation where dying was a real possibility. While I like some aspects of utilitarianism, I don't know if I'd sacrifice my own life to save the lives of a hundred strangers.
Well? I think so. "cCmpletely"? Not at all.
