As part of the teaching assitanceship thingy I'm doing with Anna's Theatre in the Community class and as part of my ServiceCorps stuff, Anna and I decided it would be helpful to go to a Neighborhood Association meeting tonight.

It started at 6:30pm.

When I left at 9:45pm, it still wasn't over.

Anna finally leaned over and told me I could go. I waited another half hour, but then I just had to get out of there. I felt bad about leaving her there by herself - but not so bad that I didn't go ahead and take her up on the early dismissal. Tomorrow's an early day.

I think the Native American's had the right idea - property and ownership of land are ridiculous concepts. Expecially when they lead to this kind of obsession over rights and regulations and who owns what and what they can or can't do with it, yadda yadda yadda ad motherfuckingNAUSEUM.

I am really no longer feeling the need to ever own a piece of property. Unless it's at least 25 miles away from another human being. And in that case, why would I have to say that I 'own' it?

Dear Human Race:

You are a bunch of complete idiots.

Love,
Me

Agreed. This is why things like privatizing water supplies scare me so much. Human behavior is entirely too heavily dictated by greed for ownership of land to be a good thing. Stewardship, maybe, but not ownership.
