Jan. 30th, 2007 03:52 pmOMFG - YES MUST SEE THIS:
Bukowsical: The Musical!
This outrageous musical follows the life of Bukowski, great master of the written arts, from his unhappy childhood to an unhappier adult life, as he turns for inspiration to his number one friend: booze. Despite his steady diet of repression, depression and more booze, Charles becomes one of the greatest individuals of his kind, producing thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories, and six novels, and eventually having more than fifty books in print.
Bukowsical! is for mature audiences only.
The HELL you say!
The lyricist and composer for this show were guest speakers in my Dangerous Theatre class today. They sang a couple of the songs from it, and they are so roll-in-your-own-filth-with-a-big-cheesy-grin marvelously grotesque that I will move heaven and earth to make time to attend.
I must go see it this weekend, because it only runs here for three days. Anyone interested in joining me - sing out, Louise!

Date: 2007-01-31 02:55 am (UTC)Hey - do you remember seeing a press release and/or calendar listing for "Corpus: An Impractical Anatomy" come across your desk recently? 'Cuz I'm working on that right now, and any interest you can fan for it would be mightily and greatly appreciated. Muchly, even. :)
