Big chunks of this day have been FROM HELL so far.
Got up early enough to get to campus within a reasonably close time to what I wanted, despite FAILED attempt at sleep last night. +GOOD
Only to find that my bike lock, having been turned UP, had collected water in the tumblers and was thus FROZEN SOLID. -BAD
So, okay, as gross as it is considering how close I live to campus, okay, I'll drive - need to run errands for Touring Company anyway, and hauling my laptop in the bike basket is also kind of a pain. NULL
First errand cancelled - because person who was supposed to have materials ready for me to pick up, hasn't done so - but at least I called in advance before driving over there. NULL
Get to campus - and spend 30 FUCKING MINUTES trying to find parking - because the parking structure doesn't have the brains manning it to know when it's FULL, so hapless bastards like myself and the 15 other people had to go all the way through from top to fucking bottom just to have to back around and LEAVE again. By which time all the other fucking lots around the campus are full as well. -VERY, VERY, VERY BAD
Get the flyers and intro letters printed. +GOOD
Lose my datebook [read: my brain, otherwise known as the single most important possession I have]. -BAD - BADNESS OF EPIC PROPORTIONS
Found the datebook. +GOODY GOODY GOOD GOOD GOOD
The usual traffic shite trying to get back OFF campus. -BAD
I'm seriously thinking that I need to get a scooter. I really would have liked to have gotten my truck, but considering how much of a liability a vehicle can be for a lifestyle that requires so much going to and fro from campus and downtown, (oftentimes carrying more stuff than what makes a bike practical) and how much I'm going to end up spending on fucking PARKING - and hey, I don't even LIKE having to drive when I do - yeah, I'm thinking that maybe the no truck thing was a blessing in disguise. If I can find a way to work it into the schedule this weekend, mamma needs to go shoppin' for a scooter.
Please let the rest of this day be less like the way it started out, kthnxbuhbye.
