In a slightly better headspace than yesterday. Still not great, but eh.

In other news, it looks like I'm soon going to be a truck driver. Not as a profession, but as the owner of a new/used vehicle, specifically a truck. My car's got over 211k on it and it's just time - when I had the oil changed and the brakes checked last week, they said the brakes are going to need to be replaced soon and there's apparently a ginormous oil leak, though they weren't sure if it was from a main seal or possibly a cracked block. Either way, it would involved $$$ to get both taken care of, and I'm figuring that with that many miles, it's just time for a trade-in rather than investing in further. So I went back to the dealership where I got two of my last three cars - the two good, reliable, and reasonably-priced ones - and the best buy for my budget is going to be a lightweight Ford Ranger with an extended cab. Short bed, but extra room behind the seats for stuff I don't want to throw in the back, like groceries, my backpack, whatevah.

I feel guilty at the idea of a truck - I hate big huge gas-guzzling vehicles, especially when I'm behind one on the road - but there have been numerous occasions over the years that I've really needed a larger vehicles than wot I had, and it's only a 4-cyl engine, which is actually smaller than the one in my Nissan - so, the gas mileage may even be comparable, all things considered. And a truck is a sturdy critter. Plus, it's a '98, so it's almost 10 years 'younger' than my current ride, which for me is a step up. Wooty-wooty-woo.

I'll be going to pick it up around the 10th, when my financial aid supposedly comes through, although I'm withholding excitement on this, as it took three people at the Bursar's office to even come up with this particular date, because apparently no one at fucking UNM knows really exactly when the disbursement dates are. Have I mentioned lately that I hate and loathe that fucking school? Yeah.

So that's about it. I'm still hoping my head funk clears soon. It would be nice.

I had a 98 Chevy S10 for a few years. I only traded it in because I had a kidlet during those years and a two seater was just not working. The gas mileage was fairly comparable to my Saturn. I wouldn't mind a little truck again, they are useful for things like moving.
