Did my first oral presentation for Spanish class tonight, and once again I am convinced of the power of THEATRE.

Heh.

Seriously.

We all had to read poems that we'd written in Spanish, and honestly, my poem was crap - but I still got an actual reaction from the class and had people saying "I really like that one" and "that was my favorite" -

And the only reason? Because I read the damn thing with some expression in my voice.

That's it, really.

There were a couple of poems that absolutely blew doors as far as quality - I mean, some really fucking beautiful stuff - but anything read in a stilted monotone just isn't going to get the kind of attention it really deserves.

That's really all it is sometimes - presentation. Inflection. A little bit of personality communicated through emphasis - timing -

Anyway, it's good to have it over with.

Huzzah.

Now to study for the math test. Gah.
