Oct. 10th, 2005 02:00 pmOn riding a bike:
The cold I don't mind so much.
The frigging cold rainy part of today's ride -
Short but frigging not very goddamn fun.
Need to get riding gloves STAT.
And figure out the solution to getting where you're going WET AS FUCK.
If where I'm going is home, not such a big deal.
Anywhere else - this shit simply is not going to fly.
Having car towed to Pep Boys this afternoon, where they told me that they can replace the alternator AND the goddamn battery - for about $270. As opposed to the well-it-could-be-$250-JUST-to-put-a-USED-alternator-in-or-it-could-be-$400-or-it-could-even-be$800-HOORAY! garage. Thanks, but - no fucking thanks.
And yes, from the number of fucks in this post, I'm sure it's obvious that I'm a wee bit cranky.
Hopefully will be getting a car back by tomorrow.
Still going to be a predominantly bike person, but kee-rist - not having a car AT ALL - is not much fun.
And yes, I found to my screaming horror ONCE A-FUCKING-GAIN that the bus system, even right next to the goddamn UNIVERSITY, still sucks balls. And riding a bike home from work at 10:30 at night after dark, in a town where drivers think of bike riders as "cool! extra points!" - not so much what I wanna do.
Need to try to get some homework done; all this shit has eaten up way too much of my time the last few days, and there's another damn paper due on Wednesday.
And yes, I DO realize that comparatively speaking, things could be much, MUCH worse, thanks very much.
That's probably scheduled for next week.
