I just discovered today that there's an insert in the bottom of my backpack to provide stability to the bottom - and, apparently, to serve as a sort of black hole for objects.

I found my 3x5 cards.

I once had a purse with a tiny gap in the inner seam,
that ate things. All things swallowed would hide in between the inner and outer fabric for months.

Also had a jacket which once yielded up long-lost treasure I'd given up on, from a corner of the lining.
