I'm either going to:

a) See about getting transfered to another part of the library

or

b) See about getting another work-study job somewhere else entirely on campus.

Life is too damn short to not like what you're doing - or more specifically who you're doing it for.

Screw that.

The Die is Cast

Ahhhhhh...

Long story short: The woman who was my previous Supervisor here at Ye Olde Library - ROCKED. In a serious way.

She's no longer my direct supervisor (there's a new 'layer' in between now. Gah.), and she's also been gone on maternity leave for the last month.

But she just got back today.

God, I missed her! Pardon me for bein' all sloppy, but I really liked working for her.

And I really have not liked working for the new head of my department.

Anyway, even though I felt a little like I was ambushing poor Barb on her first day back - I did get her aside and explained the situation and asked if I should transfer somewhere else here in the library or somewhere else entirely on campus.

You know what's really cool? When someone tells you that they like you, they value your work, and they want to keep you around. Did I mention that I really like working for Barb...?

Anyway - she wants to keep me in the library - and there's a possibility that there will be a position not too unlike what I'm already doing right now - work I happen to enjoy - just in a different department.

Crossed fingers. Yes indeedy.

And Barb REALLY rocks.
